As a result of wear and tear and sun damage the colour of this sofa has significantly faded mostly on the seat base cushions. This particular sofa is aniline leather so it is very important that the right products are used to ensure that the sofa isn’t too pigmented post restoration.

To begin the technician will clean the sofa using an aniline friendly leather cleaner and a lint free cloth.

  • After the sofa is cleaned the sofa is prepped with aniline friendly leather prep and a lint free cloth.
  • Following this the technician will mix the leather dye to match the colour of the sofa.
  • Next the technician applied a base coat to the sofa using leather dye and a lint free cloth.
  • After a base coat has been applied and dried the technician will use the air compressor to apply thin layers of leather dye.
  • Aniline leather typically dries without the need for use of a hairdryer.
  • Once the sofa has had the leather dye applied enough to which the technician is happy with the result of the sofa the technician will move on to applying a coat of lacquer.
  • The coat of lacquer applied is to seal and protect the colour restoration process that has been completed.
  • Following this colour restoration we recommend that the sofa is not used for 4 days in order to allow the sofa to cure properly.

we advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months this allows the leather to stay clean and fresh and the protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa. Please ensure that aniline sofas are cared for using aniline leather friendly products.
